Security and privacy challenges of interoperability
This tutorial introduces the basic definitions and underlying concepts of security, privacy, and trust. In that context, a general and a layered security model will be introduced. After highlighting ongoing organizational, methodological and technological paradigm changes for health systems, related interoperability challenges and necessary interoperability levels as well as consequences for security and privacy will be discussed. Advanced interoperability requires managing multiple domains including policy domains. As optimal solution, a system-theoretical, architecture-centric, ontology-based health system model will be presented. The solutions presented will be based on international standards, especially ISO and HL7 specifications.
